Description: The Regional Director of Human Resource will be responsible for providing complete Human Resources generalist support for Ryder's North East region which consists of 3,000+ employees with an operating revenue of $600 million. This position directs a  team of Human Resource Managers, Generalists and administrative staff and is be based in Exeter, NH.  

This is a hands-on role in which the incumbent will be expected to be active and visible throughout the region to ensure the delivery of high quality human resources support for the business.  

Significant consulting and partnering with his/her assigned client group on all people and organization related matters is expected. Broad knowledge and experience in various human resource functions including: employee and labor relations, organizational development, benefits, compensation practices staffing and recruiting, training, talent management, diversity, and performance management is required.  

The key to this position is a strong business partner who can build alliances by gaining respect among field Managers and employees.  

The Regional Director of Human Resources must be able to clearly demonstrate how human resource programs and practices contribute to the achievement of business results.  

Additional key responsibilities on a more specific basis will include:  

Partner with the business team to drive practical solutions in the areas of employee relations, talent management, compensation, diversity, benefits, training and staffing.  

Oversee all employee and labor relations to ensure an atmosphere of positive employee relations is maintained. Through coaching, counseling and training, improve the skill level of supervisors and managers in handling employee concerns, performance improvement actions and disciplinary actions.  

Work with the central staffing function to ensure adequate staffing levels throughout the region.  

Manage the performance management processes for the region.  

Work with the region s operating managers to establish and drive diversity initiatives.  

Facilitate communication to the field on all human resources items and coordinate the flow of information and feedback as appropriate.  

Assure compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment and labor laws.  

Identify talent gap issues and work with Human Resource colleagues and business partners in addressing viable solutions.  

This is a hands-on job where the incumbent is expected to be active and visible in the field organization. Approximately  
50% travel will be required.  

Position Requirements & Education:  
A Bachelors degree in business or related field is required. An advanced degree in a relevant field such as an MBA or Master s in Human Resources is desirable.  

The successful candidate will also be someone who has a demonstrated record of continuous professional growth and active involvement in relevant professional organizations to maintain a current knowledge of state of the art practices.  

Labor experience; labor relations, contract negotiations and campaigns, union organization and avoidance experience are required.  


Experience:  
A minimum of 10 years of human resource generalist experience in an organization with a similar workforce, i.e. large number of hourly union and non-union employees in geographically dispersed locations.

Description: Under general guidance of the HR director, this person is responsible for the administration and implementation of a comprehensive benefits program serving the needs of a diverse faculty and staff. He or she will evaluate and analyze internal and competitive benefits data and trends, and administer the college benefits program in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as college policies and goals. Working with HR, payroll, IT staff and others, this person will also act as the administrator for the integrated HRIS system to ensure effective, consistent and accurate use of the HR/payroll module, website, portal and intranet in line with institutional strategies and goals.

Recommend, implement, and maintain benefits policies and procedures; includes administration of leaves of absence, sick leave, disability, medical and dental insurance, FSA s, NHSIC, FMLA, ADA, workers  compensation, tuition remission, unemployment tax management, 403(b) retirement plan, etc.; also responsible for marketing and communications of benefits programs. Develops benefit procedures, summaries, statements, and specific guidelines for employees seeking to access their various benefits; assists the director with policy development and vendor relations. Responds to benefits inquires, coordinates new hire orientations and assists employees with access to health and welfare programs. Ensures all shifts have access to benefits information, communicating in person and maximizing use of the website, intranet and/or portal. Reconciles health and dental billing accounts, flex spending accounts, etc, and ensures compliance in the preparation of 5500 s.

Will also develop and implement procedures for HRIS data entry, table maintenance, deduction codes, report writing, data retrievals, etc. This person is responsible for integrity of the data and will train HR staff on use of the system; responds to data requests, completes state, federal and institutional surveys. Serves on the college s safety committee and participates in various HR department projects and duties as needed.

Bachelor s degree in a HR related or business field with 3+ years experience in a benefits/HRIS related position required, preferably in higher education. Solid working knowledge of benefits administration including state and federal regulations; PHR certification preferred. Strong knowledge and experience with relational HRIS databases required; experience with Jenzabar CX and/or Cognos a plus. Expert level Excel and proficient level Word and PowerPoint required; must possess strong analytical, financial, research and problem solving skills plus excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills. Must possess an appreciation for and commitment to use of technology solutions for HR programs, benefits communication and implementation. As a member of a 3-person HR team, must be flexible to respond to day-to-day needs of the department. The successful candidate will also be able to support the mission of a Catholic Benedictine liberal arts college along with the college s commitment to inclusiveness.
